Testimonials
“Cashell is she is thorough, intentional, and precise when it comes to research and information sharing. Whenever I we had a question, she would follow up with a few articles to support her answer for me to make a solid decision. That was the beauty of working with Cashell, she empowered me and encouraged me to make my own decisions about my body, when I didn’t know that was an option within a hospital system.
She shared resources and reminded me, through test options and intervention possibilities, that I was allowed to say “no”, or “not right now”. It seems menial, but that power in myself and my body I believe gave me the strength to push my baby out with no epidural and no interventions.
We were blessed to work with Cashell in so many ways. I look back and know my birth would have been either completely different or a story I wouldn’t fondly tell if it weren’t for Cashell being an intimate part of it.
On my actual labor and delivery day, Cashell did not leave my side as I needed her support with pain management in holding my lower back with contractions, reminding me to breathe, easing my husband’s nerves that I was behaving normally, etc. At the hospital again she didn’t leave my side, she introduced herself to the team of nurses in the room, and although I pushed Teddy soon after I got into the room, she quickly tended to my wishes by turning off the main lights, spraying some lavender, and passing out one pagers to all nurse staff of my birth plan. I think back to these moments and become emotional because she was there for me in a system that often treats pregnant women as a liability and health threat just because we are pregnant.
Cashell is the reason why Teddy is here and why he came into the world with such grace and happiness. We pray we can work with Cashell again for our next baby, and quite frankly, wouldn’t want work with anyone else.”

"I've been lucky enough to know Cashell long before she became a doula. As soon as she embarked on this journey, I knew she had found her calling and that I wanted to have her a part of my team when the time came. Me being someone who chooses to journey solo most of the time, it was a new experience having her support and encouragement on the day, as well as, during my entire pregnancy. I am so grateful for it. She has the perfect balance of being able to be there as a friend as well as an experienced professional. It was comforting knowing that I had her to turn to after doctor's appointments, birth plan changes, external pressures, and hormonal rollercoasters.
My birth did not go how I had planned, except for Cashell's role in it, which in turn gave me the strength and stability me and my baby needed on the day. She was the first person I called before my husband, and she was present and engaged every step of the way. I look back on her efforts to help make my experience close to what I had hoped for leading up to that last push, and I am so grateful to have had her in my corner! Not only did she advocate for me, but she knew above everyone else what I needed physically, emotionally, and mentally in each moment as I journey through the birthing process. I may have left fingerprint marks wrapped around her arms, but Cashell has forever left a mark on my heart as she held one of the most crucial roles on one of the most important days of my life!"
